True Life: This Is What It's Like To Grow Up With Much Older Parents
There is no rule that says when we can and can't have children. Genetics, of course, but some people choose to have their kids much later than most people. Having 'older parents' comes with its own set of benefits and problems. For better or worse, having an older parent is definitely a different experience. These confessions will make you realize just how different it really is.

What a sad way to feel.

1
My parents had me later in life. I was a baby to try and "fix" a marriage. It didn't work. I think both of my parents always resented having me around.

Very unfortunate timing and circumstances here.

2
I applied for many scholarships myself and I got nothing because of family finances. I have older parents with retirement funds, they were 59 at the time. You can't always get help with school finances.

That is pretty funny.

3
I'm weirdly obsessed with the fact that my parents, who had me later in life, are older than my partner's parents. My partner is 16 years older than me.

Parent's just don't understand!

4
I hate having older parents. They don't understand anything about modern society and they make assumptions about things they don't understand.

So upsetting.

My 60 year old parents lost their jobs. They live 8 hours away and I'm too poor to see them and take care of them. They can't find jobs because of their age. I feel like a failure.

Hey now! Slow down!

Im only 16, but because my parents had me later in life I want to have a child now. I want my children to have more time with their grandparents than I did. I feel if i don't, I'll regret it later in life.
