Stealth Mode: What Life Is Like When No One Knows You Are Trans
The content below was sourced from real posts on the Whisper app, the largest online community where people anonymously share real thoughts and feelings. Join the community to continue the conversation today. Anyone in the LGBTQ+ community will tell you that coming out comes with plenty of issues. This is especially the case with transgender people. Sometimes, if you're able to, it's just easier to keep your gender identity to yourself. At least this was the case for these people. These wide range of confessions are from people who either "pass" and don't feel the need to share their identity, are pre-transition or newly out and unsure about who to tell. Their stories are all unique and powerful. May their journeys remind you that everyone deserves kindness, respect and acceptance.

How scary.

I have around 100k subscribers on YouTube, but no one knows that I'm a closeted, pre transition trans person. I'm too scared to tell that many people.

10 years ago, I thought I had to just suck it up and live as man. Now, with no makeup, no surgeries, and even in t-shirt and jeans no one knows I'm trans.
I like being stealth.

Ugh.

I hate public restrooms. I feel so out of place. I'm trans, but no one knows because my family is a super strict Christian family and would disown me and throw me out.

You have no idea.

The best part of Halloween is dressing up as a female character. No one knows it’s because I’m trans.

So upsetting.

I'm a closeted trans woman. I have depression and anxiety because of it. I'm suicidal on some days, but no one knows any of this and that just hurts me more.
